L. 108–29, § 2(a), May 29, 2003, 117 Stat. 772.)","seq_in_title":512,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t18/ptI/ch65","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t18","level":"title","num":"Title 18—","heading":"CRIMES AND CRIMINAL PROCEDURE","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t18/ptI","level":"part","num":"PART I—","heading":"CRIMES","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t18/ptI/ch65","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 65—","heading":"MALICIOUS MISCHIEF","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"id74adce21-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s1369\"><num value=\"1369\">§ 1369.</num><heading> Destruction of veterans’ memorials</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id74adce22-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s1369/a\"><num value=\"a\">(a)</num><content> Whoever, in a circumstance described in subsection (b), willfully injures or destroys, or attempts to injure or destroy, any structure, plaque, statue, or other monument on public property commemorating the service of any person or persons in the armed forces of the United States shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both.</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id74adce23-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s1369/b\"><num value=\"b\">(b)</num><chapeau> A circumstance described in this subsection is that—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id74adce24-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s1369/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> in committing the offense described in subsection (a), the defendant travels or causes another to travel in interstate or foreign commerce, or uses the mail or an instrumentality of interstate or foreign commerce; or</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id74adce25-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s1369/b/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> the structure, plaque, statue, or other monument described in subsection (a) is located on property owned by, or under the jurisdiction of, the Federal Government.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id74adce26-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\">(Added <ref href=\"/us/pl/108/29/s2/a\">Pub.
