Mental disease or defect does not otherwise constitute a defense.</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"idbf7bd7f3-f67c-11e5-9c36-ef289b549859\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s17/b\"><num value=\"b\">(b)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">Burden of Proof</inline>.—</heading><content>The defendant has the burden of proving the defense of insanity by clear and convincing evidence.</content>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"idbf7bd7f4-f67c-11e5-9c36-ef289b549859\">(Added <ref href=\"/us/pl/98/473/tII\">Pub.
