<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="idd3a0800b-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s1837"><num value="1837">§ 1837.</num><heading> Applicability to conduct outside the United States</heading>
<chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">This chapter also applies to conduct occurring outside the United States if—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="idd3a0800c-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s1837/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> the offender is a natural person who is a citizen or permanent resident alien of the United States, or an organization organized under the laws of the United States or a State or political subdivision thereof; or</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="idd3a0800d-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s1837/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> an act in furtherance of the offense was committed in the United States.</content>
