<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="idd3b567fd-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s2252C"><num value="2252C">§ 2252C.</num><heading> Misleading words or digital images on the Internet</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="idd3b58f0e-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s2252C/a"><num value="a">(a)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">In General</inline>.—</heading><content>Whoever knowingly embeds words or digital images into the source code of a website with the intent to deceive a person into viewing material constituting obscenity shall be fined under this title and imprisoned for not more than 10 years.</content>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="idd3b58f0f-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s2252C/b"><num value="b">(b)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">Minors</inline>.—</heading><content>Whoever knowingly embeds words or digital images into the source code of a website with the intent to deceive a minor into viewing material harmful to minors on the Internet shall be fined under this title and imprisoned for not more than 20 years.</content>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="idd3b58f10-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s2252C/c"><num value="c">(c)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">Construction</inline>.—</heading><content>For the purposes of this section, a word or digital image that clearly indicates the sexual content of the site, such as “sex” or “porn”, is not misleading.</content>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="idd3b58f11-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s2252C/d"><num value="d">(d)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">Definitions</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>As used in this section—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="idd3b58f12-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s2252C/d/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> the terms “material that is harmful to minors” and “sex” have the meaning given such terms in section 2252B; and</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="idd3b58f13-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s2252C/d/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> the term “source code” means the combination of text and other characters comprising the content, both viewable and nonviewable, of a web page, including any website publishing language, programming language, protocol or functional content, as well as any successor languages or protocols.</content>
