<chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">In sections 2258A through 2258E—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id74fed3d4-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s2258E/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> the terms “attorney for the government” and “State” have the meanings given those terms in rule 1 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure;</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id74fed3d5-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s2258E/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> the term “electronic communication service” has the meaning given that term in section 2510;</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id74fed3d6-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s2258E/3"><num value="3">(3)</num><content> the term “electronic mail address” has the meaning given that term in section 3 of the CAN–SPAM Act of 2003 (<ref href="/us/usc/t15/s7702">15 U.S.C. 7702</ref>);</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id74fed3d7-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s2258E/4"><num value="4">(4)</num><content> the term “Internet” has the meaning given that term in section 1101 of the Internet Tax Freedom Act (<ref href="/us/usc/t47/s151">47 U.S.C. 151</ref> note);</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id74fed3d8-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s2258E/5"><num value="5">(5)</num><content> the term “remote computing service” has the meaning given that term in section 2711;</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id74fed3d9-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s2258E/6"><num value="6">(6)</num><content> the term “provider” means an electronic communication service provider or remote computing service;</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id74fed3da-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s2258E/7"><num value="7">(7)</num><content> the term “NCMEC” means the National Center for Missing &amp; Exploited Children; and</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id74fed3db-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s2258E/8"><num value="8">(8)</num><content> the term “website” means any collection of material placed in a computer server-based file archive so that it is publicly accessible, over the Internet, using hypertext transfer protocol or any successor protocol.</content>
