L. 116–249, § 2(a), Dec. 22, 2020, 134 Stat. 1126.)","seq_in_title":817,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t18/ptI/ch110A","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t18","level":"title","num":"Title 18—","heading":"CRIMES AND CRIMINAL PROCEDURE","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t18/ptI","level":"part","num":"PART I—","heading":"CRIMES","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t18/ptI/ch110A","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 110A—","heading":"DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND STALKING","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"idbdaefb0c-4aa6-11eb-bce4-d6beeb6aa2d0\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s2261B\"><num value=\"2261B\">§ 2261B.</num><heading> Enhanced penalty for stalkers of children</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"idbdaefb0d-4aa6-11eb-bce4-d6beeb6aa2d0\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s2261B/a\"><num value=\"a\">(a)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">In General</inline>.—</heading><content>Except as provided in subsection (b), if the victim of an offense under section 2261A is under the age of 18 years, the maximum imprisonment for the offense is 5 years greater than the maximum term of imprisonment otherwise provided for that offense in section 2261.</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"idbdaf221e-4aa6-11eb-bce4-d6beeb6aa2d0\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s2261B/b\"><num value=\"b\">(b)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">Limitation</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>Subsection (a) shall not apply to a person who violates section 2261A if—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idbdaf221f-4aa6-11eb-bce4-d6beeb6aa2d0\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s2261B/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> the person is subject to a sentence under section 2261(b)(5); and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idbdaf2220-4aa6-11eb-bce4-d6beeb6aa2d0\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s2261B/b/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idbdaf2221-4aa6-11eb-bce4-d6beeb6aa2d0\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s2261B/b/2/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> the person is under the age of 18 at the time the offense occurred; or</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idbdaf2222-4aa6-11eb-bce4-d6beeb6aa2d0\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s2261B/b/2/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><content> the victim of the offense is not less than 15 nor more than 17 years of age and not more than 3 years younger than the person who committed the offense at the time the offense occurred.</content>\n</subparagraph>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"idbdaf4933-4aa6-11eb-bce4-d6beeb6aa2d0\">(Added <ref href=\"/us/pl/116/249/s2/a\">Pub.
