<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id7436a1d2-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s24"><num value="24">§ 24.</num><heading> Definitions relating to Federal health care offense</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id7436a1d3-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s24/a"><num value="a">(a)</num><chapeau> As used in this title, the term “Federal health care offense” means a violation of, or a criminal conspiracy to violate—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id7436a1d4-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s24/a/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> section 669, 1035, 1347, or 1518 of this title or section 1128B of the Social Security Act (<ref href="/us/usc/t42/s1320a–7b">42 U.S.C. 1320a–7b</ref>); or</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id7436a1d5-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s24/a/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> section 287, 371, 664, 666, 1001, 1027, 1341, 1343, 1349, or 1954 of this title section 301 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (<ref href="/us/usc/t21/s331">21 U.S.C. 331</ref>), or section 501 of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (<ref href="/us/usc/t29/s1131">29 U.S.C. 1131</ref>), or section 411, 518, or 511 of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974,,<ref class="footnoteRef" idref="fn002010">1</ref><note type="footnote" id="fn002010"><num>1</num> So in original. <subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id7436a1d6-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s24/b"><num value="b">(b)</num><content> As used in this title, the term “health care benefit program” means any public or private plan or contract, affecting commerce, under which any medical benefit, item, or service is provided to any individual, and includes any individual or entity who is providing a medical benefit, item, or service for which payment may be made under the plan or contract.</content>
