<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id75380c66-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s3147"><num value="3147">§ 3147.</num><heading> Penalty for an offense committed while on release</heading>
<chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">A person convicted of an offense committed while released under this chapter shall be sentenced, in addition to the sentence prescribed for the offense, to—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id75380c67-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s3147/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> a term of imprisonment of not more than ten years if the offense is a felony; or</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id75380c68-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s3147/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> a term of imprisonment of not more than one year if the offense is a misdemeanor.</content>
</paragraph>

<continuation style="-uslm-lc:I10" class="indent0 firstIndent0">A term of imprisonment imposed under this section shall be consecutive to any other sentence of imprisonment.</continuation>
