L. 106–523, § 2(a), Nov. 22, 2000, 114 Stat. 2489.)","seq_in_title":1087,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t18/ptII/ch212","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t18","level":"title","num":"Title 18—","heading":"CRIMES AND CRIMINAL PROCEDURE","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t18/ptII","level":"part","num":"PART II—","heading":"CRIMINAL PROCEDURE","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t18/ptII/ch212","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 212—","heading":"MILITARY EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"id84b2aa86-4631-11e3-82e4-c7c00c991bd6\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s3263\"><num value=\"3263\">§ 3263.</num><heading> Delivery to authorities of foreign countries</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id84b2aa87-4631-11e3-82e4-c7c00c991bd6\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s3263/a\"><num value=\"a\">(a)</num><chapeau> Any person designated and authorized under section 3262(a) may deliver a person described in section 3261(a) to the appropriate authorities of a foreign country in which such person is alleged to have violated section 3261(a) if—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id84b2aa88-4631-11e3-82e4-c7c00c991bd6\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s3263/a/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> appropriate authorities of that country request the delivery of the person to such country for trial for such conduct as an offense under the laws of that country; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id84b2aa89-4631-11e3-82e4-c7c00c991bd6\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s3263/a/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> the delivery of such person to that country is authorized by a treaty or other international agreement to which the United States is a party.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id84b2aa8a-4631-11e3-82e4-c7c00c991bd6\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s3263/b\"><num value=\"b\">(b)</num><content> The Secretary of Defense, in consultation with the Secretary of State, shall determine which officials of a foreign country constitute appropriate authorities for purposes of this section.</content>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id84b4f47b-4631-11e3-82e4-c7c00c991bd6\">(Added <ref href=\"/us/pl/106/523/s2/a\">Pub.
