L. 114–316, § 2(a)(2), Dec. 16, 2016, 130 Stat. 1593.)","seq_in_title":1094,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t18/ptII/ch212A","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t18","level":"title","num":"Title 18—","heading":"CRIMES AND CRIMINAL PROCEDURE","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t18/ptII","level":"part","num":"PART II—","heading":"CRIMINAL PROCEDURE","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t18/ptII/ch212A","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 212A—","heading":"EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OVER CERTAIN OFFENSES","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"id7541a8fd-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s3273\"><num value=\"3273\">§ 3273.</num><heading> Offenses committed by certain United States personnel stationed in Canada in furtherance of border security initiatives</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id7541a8fe-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s3273/a\"><num value=\"a\">(a)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">In General</inline>.—</heading><content>Whoever, while employed by the Department of Homeland Security or the Department of Justice and stationed or deployed in Canada pursuant to a treaty, executive agreement, or bilateral memorandum in furtherance of a border security initiative, engages in conduct (or conspires or attempts to engage in conduct) in Canada that would constitute an offense for which a person may be prosecuted in a court of the United States had the conduct been engaged in within the United States or within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States shall be fined or imprisoned, or both, as provided for that offense.</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id7541a8ff-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s3273/b\"><num value=\"b\">(b)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">Definition</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>In this section, the term “employed by the Department of Homeland Security or the Department of Justice” means—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id7541a900-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s3273/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> being employed as a civilian employee, a contractor (including a subcontractor at any tier), or an employee of a contractor (or a subcontractor at any tier) of the Department of Homeland Security or the Department of Justice;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id7541a901-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s3273/b/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> being present or residing in Canada in connection with such employment; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id7541a902-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s3273/b/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><content> not being a national of or ordinarily resident in Canada.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id7541a903-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\">(Added <ref href=\"/us/pl/114/316/s2/a/2\">Pub.
