<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="idd40f477a-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s4050"><num value="4050">§ 4050.</num><heading> Secure firearms storage</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="idd40f477b-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s4050/a"><num value="a">(a)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">Definitions</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>In this section—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="idd40f477c-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s4050/a/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> the term “employee” means a qualified law enforcement officer employed by the Bureau of Prisons; and</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="idd40f477d-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s4050/a/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> the terms “firearm” and “qualified law enforcement officer” have the meanings given those terms under section 926B.</content>

</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="idd40f477e-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s4050/b"><num value="b">(b)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">Secure Firearms Storage</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>The Director of the Bureau of Prisons shall ensure that each chief executive officer of a Federal penal or correctional institution—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="idd40f477f-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s4050/b/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="idd40f4780-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s4050/b/1/A"><num value="A">(A)</num><content> provides a secure storage area located outside of the secure perimeter of the institution for employees to store firearms; or</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="idd40f4781-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s4050/b/1/B"><num value="B">(B)</num><content> allows employees to store firearms in a vehicle lockbox approved by the Director of the Bureau of Prisons; and</content>
</subparagraph>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="idd40f4782-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd" identifier="/us/usc/t18/s4050/b/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> notwithstanding any other provision of law, allows employees to carry concealed firearms on the premises outside of the secure perimeter of the institution.</content>
