Probably should be “effort”.</note> related to a wildfire suppression, shall be fined under this title, imprisoned for not more than 2 years, or both.</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"idd32c1404-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s40A/b\"><num value=\"b\">(b)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">Exceptions</inline>.—</heading><content>This section does not apply to the operation of an unmanned aircraft conducted by a unit or agency of the United States Government or of a State, tribal, or local government (including any individual conducting such operation pursuant to a contract or other agreement entered into with the unit or agency) for the purpose of protecting the public safety and welfare, including firefighting, law enforcement, or emergency response.</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"idd32c3b15-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s40A/c\"><num value=\"c\">(c)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">Definitions</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>In this section, the following definitions apply:</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idd32c3b16-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s40A/c/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">Unmanned aircraft</inline>.—</heading><content>The term “unmanned aircraft” has the meaning given the term in <ref href=\"/us/usc/t49/s44801\">section 44801 of title 49</ref>, United States Code.</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idd32c3b17-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s40A/c/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">Wildfire</inline>.—</heading><content>The term “wildfire” has the meaning given that term in section 2 of the Emergency Wildfire Suppression Act (<ref href=\"/us/usc/t42/s1856m\">42 U.S.C. 1856m</ref>).</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idd32c3b18-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s40A/c/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">Wildfire suppression</inline>.—</heading><content>The term “wildfire suppression” means an effort to contain, extinguish, or suppress a wildfire.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"idd32c3b19-b211-11e9-bc44-d051d0f40dfd\">(Added <ref href=\"/us/pl/115/254/dB/tIII/s382/a\">Pub.
