or</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id7482ed6c-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s879/a/4\"><num value=\"4\">(4)</num><content> a person protected by the Secret Service under section 3056(a)(6);</content>\n</paragraph>\n\n<continuation style=\"-uslm-lc:I10\" class=\"indent0 firstIndent0\">shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both.</continuation>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id7482ed6d-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s879/b\"><num value=\"b\">(b)</num><chapeau> As used in this section—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id7482ed6e-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s879/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><chapeau> the term “immediate family” means—</chapeau><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id7482ed6f-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s879/b/1/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> with respect to subsection (a)(1) of this section, the wife of a former President during his lifetime, the widow of a former President until her death or remarriage, and minor children of a former President until they reach sixteen years of age; and</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id7482ed70-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s879/b/1/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><chapeau> with respect to subsection (a)(2) and (a)(3) of this section, a person to whom the President, President-elect, Vice President, Vice President-elect, or major candidate for the office of President or Vice President—</chapeau><clause style=\"-uslm-lc:I14\" class=\"indent3\" id=\"id7482ed71-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s879/b/1/B/i\"><num value=\"i\">(i)</num><content> is related by blood, marriage, or adoption; or</content>\n</clause>\n<clause style=\"-uslm-lc:I14\" class=\"indent3\" id=\"id7482ed72-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s879/b/1/B/ii\"><num value=\"ii\">(ii)</num><content> stands in loco parentis;</content>\n</clause>\n</subparagraph>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id7482ed73-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s879/b/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> the term “major candidate for the office of President or Vice President” means a candidate referred to in subsection (a)(7) of <ref href=\"/us/usc/t18/s3056\">section 3056 of this title</ref>; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id7482ed74-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t18/s879/b/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><content> the terms “President-elect” and “Vice President-elect” have the meanings given those terms in <ref href=\"/us/usc/t18/s871/b\">section 871(b) of this title</ref>.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id7482ed75-3b28-11eb-ad8c-9fba61cd9daf\">(Added <ref href=\"/us/pl/97/297/s1/a\">Pub.
