<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id192ff8fe-425e-11e3-8d4d-f11243cf9240" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s1742/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Experts and consultants</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Librarian may, in carrying out this chapter, procure temporary and intermittent services under <ref href="/us/usc/t5/s3109/b">section 3109(b) of title 5</ref>, but at rates for individuals not to exceed the daily equivalent of the maximum rate of basic pay payable for level 15 of the General Schedule. In no case may a member of the Board (including an alternate member) be paid as an expert or consultant under this section.</p>
