<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id5d80216e-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2162a"><num value="2162a">§ 2162a.</num><heading> Promoting maximum efficiency in operation of Capitol Power Plant</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id5d80216f-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2162a/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> Steam boilers</heading><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="id5d802170-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2162a/a/1"><num value="1" class="bold">(1)</num><heading class="bold"> In general</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">The Architect of the Capitol shall take such steps as may be necessary to operate the steam boilers at the Capitol Power Plant in the most energy efficient manner possible to minimize carbon emissions and operating costs, including adjusting steam pressures and adjusting the operation of the boilers to take into account variations in demand, including seasonality, for the use of the system.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id5d802172-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2162a/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Chiller plant</heading><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="id5d802173-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2162a/b/1"><num value="1" class="bold">(1)</num><heading class="bold"> In general</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">The Architect of the Capitol shall take such steps as may be necessary to operate the chiller plant at the Capitol Power Plant in the most energy efficient manner possible to minimize carbon emissions and operating costs, including adjusting water temperatures and adjusting the operation of the chillers to take into account variations in demand, including seasonality, for the use of the system.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id5d802175-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2162a/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> Meters</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Not later than 90 days after <date date="2007-12-19">December 19, 2007</date>, the Architect of the Capitol shall evaluate the accuracy of the meters in use at the Capitol Power Plant and correct them as necessary.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id5d802176-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2162a/d"><num value="d" class="bold">(d)</num><heading class="bold"> Report on implementation</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Not later than 180 days after <date date="2007-12-19">December 19, 2007</date>, the Architect of the Capitol shall complete the implementation of the requirements of this section and submit a report describing the actions taken and the energy efficiencies achieved to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives, the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate, the Committee on House Administration of the House of Representatives, and the Committee on Rules and Administration of the Senate.</p>
