<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id5d80218b-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167"><num value="2167">§ 2167.</num><heading> Congressional Award Youth Park</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id5d80218c-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> Designation</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The parcel of approximately 5 acres of land located on the Capitol Grounds and described in subsection (b) shall be known and designated as the “Congressional Award Youth Park”.</p>

</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id5d80218d-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Area included</heading><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="id5d80218e-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/b/1"><num value="1" class="bold">(1)</num><heading class="bold"> In general</heading><chapeau>The parcel of land described in subsection (a) is—</chapeau><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id5d80218f-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/b/1/A"><num value="A">(A)</num><content> bounded on the north by Constitution Avenue, N.W.;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id5d802190-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/b/1/B"><num value="B">(B)</num><content> bounded on the east by First Street, N.W.;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id5d802191-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/b/1/C"><num value="C">(C)</num><content> bounded on the south by Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.; and</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id5d802192-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/b/1/D"><num value="D">(D)</num><content> bounded on the west by Third Street N.W.</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="id5d802193-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/b/2"><num value="2" class="bold">(2)</num><heading class="bold"> Extension</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">The park shall extend to the curbs of the streets described in paragraph (1).</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id5d802194-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> Design</heading><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="id5d802195-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/c/1"><num value="1" class="bold">(1)</num><heading class="bold"> Competition</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">The Architect of the Capitol shall sponsor a competition for the design of the park, based on specifications developed by the Architect.</p>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="id5d802196-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/c/2"><num value="2" class="bold">(2)</num><heading class="bold"> Specifications</heading><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I18" class="indent4 firstIndent-2" id="id5d802197-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/c/2/A"><num value="A" class="bold">(A)</num><heading class="bold"> In general</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2">Not later than <date date="2002-06-30">June 30, 2002</date>, the Architect, in consultation with the majority leader and the minority leader of the Senate, and the Speaker and the minority leader of the House of Representatives, shall develop the specifications for the park.</p>

</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I18" class="indent4 firstIndent-2" id="id5d802198-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/c/2/B"><num value="B" class="bold">(B)</num><heading class="bold"> Requirements</heading><clause style="-uslm-lc:I77" class="indent5 firstIndent-2" id="id5d802199-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/c/2/B/i"><num value="i" class="bold">(i)</num><heading class="bold"> In general</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I14" class="indent3">The specifications shall require an outdoor design that is accessible to the public.</p>

<clause style="-uslm-lc:I77" class="indent5 firstIndent-2" id="id5d80219a-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/c/2/B/ii"><num value="ii" class="bold">(ii)</num><heading class="bold"> Inclusions</heading><chapeau>To the maximum extent practicable, the specifications shall include requirements for—</chapeau><subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="id5d80219b-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/c/2/B/ii/I"><num value="I">(I)</num><content> a fountain;</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="id5d80219c-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/c/2/B/ii/II"><num value="II">(II)</num><content> extensive use of trees and flowering plants from each of the 50 States;</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="id5d80219d-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/c/2/B/ii/III"><num value="III">(III)</num><content> large-scale replicas of the medals awarded under the Congressional Award Program; and</content>
</subclause>
<subclause style="-uslm-lc:I16" class="indent4" id="id5d80219e-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/c/2/B/ii/IV"><num value="IV">(IV)</num><content> the inscription of the names of all Congressional Award recipients.</content>

</subparagraph>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="id5d80219f-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/c/3"><num value="3" class="bold">(3)</num><heading class="bold"> Selection</heading><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I18" class="indent4 firstIndent-2" id="id5d8021a0-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/c/3/A"><num value="A" class="bold">(A)</num><heading class="bold"> In general</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2">As soon as practicable after the competition is completed, the Architect shall forward at least 3 designs, with recommendations, to the United States Capitol Preservation Commission.</p>

</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I18" class="indent4 firstIndent-2" id="id5d8021a1-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/c/3/B"><num value="B" class="bold">(B)</num><heading class="bold"> Final selection</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2">The United States Capitol Preservation Commission shall select and approve the final design from among the 3 designs submitted under subparagraph (A).</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id5d8021a2-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s2167/d"><num value="d" class="bold">(d)</num><heading class="bold"> Funding</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Funds otherwise made available to the Architect of the Capitol under this Act shall be available to carry out this section.</p>
