L. 91–510</ref>, set out as an Effective Date of 1970 Amendment note under <ref href=\"/us/usc/t2/s4301\">section 4301 of this title</ref>.</p>\n</note>\n<note style=\"-uslm-lc:I85\" topic=\"transferOfFunctions\" id=\"id5d25a4fd-ec38-11e5-89e9-afe61b29b17d\">\n<heading class=\"centered smallCaps\">Transfer of Functions; Nonapplicability of Sections 271 to 277 to the House</heading>\n<p><ref href=\"/us/pl/91/510/tV\">Pub. L. 91–510, title V</ref>, § 531, <date date=\"1970-10-26\">Oct. 26, 1970</date>, <ref href=\"/us/stat/84/1203\">84 Stat. 1203</ref>, provided that: <quotedContent origin=\"/us/pl/91/510/tV\">“Any individual who on the date of the enactment of this Act [<date date=\"1970-10-26\">Oct. 26, 1970</date>] is serving under an appointment by the Speaker as Legislative Counsel of the House of Representatives shall continue as Legislative Counsel of the House of Representatives in accordance with this subtitle [this subchapter].
