L. 110–81, title V, § 512, Sept. 14, 2007, 121 Stat. 759.)","seq_in_title":34,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t2/ch2","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t2","level":"title","num":"Title 2—","heading":"THE CONGRESS","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t2/ch2","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 2—","heading":"ORGANIZATION OF CONGRESS","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"id4298e8eb-3b28-11eb-b57d-ac6ded64e2e5\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t2/s30b\"><num value=\"30b\">§ 30b.</num><heading> Notice of objecting to proceeding</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id4298e8ec-3b28-11eb-b57d-ac6ded64e2e5\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t2/s30b/a\"><num value=\"a\" class=\"bold\">(a)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> In general</heading><chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">The Majority and Minority Leaders of the Senate or their designees shall recognize a notice of intent of a Senator who is a member of their caucus to object to proceeding to a measure or matter only if the Senator—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id4298e8ed-3b28-11eb-b57d-ac6ded64e2e5\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t2/s30b/a/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> following the objection to a unanimous consent to proceeding to, and, or passage of, a measure or matter on their behalf, submits the notice of intent in writing to the appropriate leader or their designee; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id4298e8ee-3b28-11eb-b57d-ac6ded64e2e5\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t2/s30b/a/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> not later than 6 session days after the submission under paragraph (1), submits for inclusion in the Congressional Record and in the applicable calendar section described in subsection (b) the following notice:<p style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">“I, Senator ____, intend to object to proceedings to ____, dated ____ for the following reasons ____.”.</p>\n</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id4298e8ef-3b28-11eb-b57d-ac6ded64e2e5\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t2/s30b/b\"><num value=\"b\" class=\"bold\">(b)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Calendar</heading><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id4298e8f0-3b28-11eb-b57d-ac6ded64e2e5\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t2/s30b/b/1\"><num value=\"1\" class=\"bold\">(1)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> In general</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\">The Secretary of the Senate shall establish for both the Senate Calendar of Business and the Senate Executive Calendar a separate section entitled “Notice of Intent to Object to Proceeding”.</p>\n</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id4298e8f1-3b28-11eb-b57d-ac6ded64e2e5\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t2/s30b/b/2\"><num value=\"2\" class=\"bold\">(2)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Content</heading><chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\">The section required by paragraph (1) shall include—</chapeau><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id4298e8f2-3b28-11eb-b57d-ac6ded64e2e5\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t2/s30b/b/2/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> the name of each Senator filing a notice under subsection (a)(2);</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id4298e8f3-3b28-11eb-b57d-ac6ded64e2e5\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t2/s30b/b/2/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><content> the measure or matter covered by the calendar that the Senator objects to; and</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id4298e8f4-3b28-11eb-b57d-ac6ded64e2e5\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t2/s30b/b/2/C\"><num value=\"C\">(C)</num><content> the date the objection was filed.</content>\n</subparagraph>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id4298e8f5-3b28-11eb-b57d-ac6ded64e2e5\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t2/s30b/b/3\"><num value=\"3\" class=\"bold\">(3)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Notice</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\">A Senator who has notified their respective leader and who has withdrawn their objection within the 6 session day period is not required to submit a notification under subsection (a)(2).</p>\n</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id4298e8f6-3b28-11eb-b57d-ac6ded64e2e5\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t2/s30b/c\"><num value=\"c\" class=\"bold\">(c)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Removal</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">A Senator may have an item with respect to the Senator removed from a calendar to which it was added under subsection (b) by submitting for inclusion in the Congressional Record the following notice:</p>\n<p style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">“I, Senator ____, do not object to proceed to ____, dated ____.”.</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id4298e8f7-3b28-11eb-b57d-ac6ded64e2e5\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/110/81/tV/s512\">Pub.
