<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id04e29ede-8e02-11e9-924e-8bbe14d5249c" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s393"><num value="393">§ 393.</num><heading> Filing of pleadings, motions, depositions, appendixes, briefs, and other papers</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id04e29edf-8e02-11e9-924e-8bbe14d5249c" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s393/a"><num value="a">(a)</num><chapeau> Filings of pleadings, motions, depositions, appendixes, briefs, and other papers shall be accomplished by:</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id04e29ee0-8e02-11e9-924e-8bbe14d5249c" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s393/a/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> delivering a copy thereof to the Clerk of the House of Representatives at his office in Washington, District of Columbia, or to a member of his staff at such office; or</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id04e29ee1-8e02-11e9-924e-8bbe14d5249c" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s393/a/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> mailing a copy thereof, by registered or certified mail, addressed to the Clerk at the House of Representatives, Washington, District of Columbia: <i>Provided</i>, That if such copy is not actually received, another copy shall be filed within a reasonable time; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id04e29ee2-8e02-11e9-924e-8bbe14d5249c" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s393/a/3"><num value="3">(3)</num><content> delivering or mailing, simultaneously with the delivery or mailing of a copy thereof under paragraphs (1) and (2) of this subsection, such additional copies as the committee may by rule prescribe.</content>
</paragraph>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id04e29ee3-8e02-11e9-924e-8bbe14d5249c" identifier="/us/usc/t2/s393/b"><num value="b">(b)</num><content> All papers filed with the Clerk pursuant to this chapter shall be promptly transmitted by him to the committee.</content>
