<p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Secretary for the Majority of the Senate (other than the incumbent holding office on <date date="1977-04-01">April 1, 1977</date>) and the Secretary for the Minority of the Senate shall each be paid at an annual rate of compensation of $39,500.</p>

L. 94–59</ref>, which increased annual rate of compensation of both Secretary for Majority of Senate and Secretary for Minority of Senate from $38,190 to $39,500 and substituted provisions excepting incumbent Secretary for Majority holding office on <date date="1975-07-01">July 1, 1975</date>, from mandatory payment of $39,500 rate but authorizing payment to him as long as he occupies that position at a maximum annual rate of compensation not to exceed $39,500 for provisions excepting Secretary for Majority holding office on <date date="1974-06-15">June 15, 1974</date>, from mandatory payment of the $38,190 rate but authorizing payment to him as long as he occupied that position at a maximum annual rate of compensation not to exceed $38,190, was repealed by <ref href="/us/pl/116/94">Pub.
