<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id6bd68474-d2f2-11e9-aa7d-f436298d01bb" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1067a/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Grant authority</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Secretary shall, in accordance with the provisions of this subpart, carry out a program of making grants to institutions of higher education that are designed to effect long-range improvement in science and engineering education at predominantly minority institutions and to increase the participation of underrepresented ethnic minorities, particularly minority women, in scientific and technological careers.</p>
