<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id829e87cb-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452"><num value="1452">§ 1452.</num><heading> Eligibility and collaborative process</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id829e87cc-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> Eligible applicants</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">A State educational agency may apply for a grant under this part for a grant period of not less than 1 year and not more than 5 years.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id829e87cd-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Partners</heading><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="id829e87ce-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/1"><num value="1" class="bold">(1)</num><heading class="bold"> In general</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">In order to be considered for a grant under this part, a State educational agency shall establish a partnership with local educational agencies and other State agencies involved in, or concerned with, the education of children with disabilities, including—</chapeau><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87cf-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/1/A"><num value="A">(A)</num><content> not less than 1 institution of higher education; and</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87d0-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/1/B"><num value="B">(B)</num><content> the State agencies responsible for administering subchapter III, early education, child care, and vocational rehabilitation programs.</content>
</subparagraph>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="id829e87d1-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/2"><num value="2" class="bold">(2)</num><heading class="bold"> Other partners</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">In order to be considered for a grant under this part, a State educational agency shall work in partnership with other persons and organizations involved in, and concerned with, the education of children with disabilities, which may include—</chapeau><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87d2-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/2/A"><num value="A">(A)</num><content> the Governor;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87d3-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/2/B"><num value="B">(B)</num><content> parents of children with disabilities ages birth through 26;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87d4-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/2/C"><num value="C">(C)</num><content> parents of nondisabled children ages birth through 26;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87d5-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/2/D"><num value="D">(D)</num><content> individuals with disabilities;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87d6-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/2/E"><num value="E">(E)</num><content> parent training and information centers or community parent resource centers funded under sections 1471 and 1472 of this title, respectively;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87d7-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/2/F"><num value="F">(F)</num><content> community based and other nonprofit organizations involved in the education and employment of individuals with disabilities;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87d8-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/2/G"><num value="G">(G)</num><content> personnel as defined in <ref href="/us/usc/t20/s1451/b">section 1451(b) of this title</ref>;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87d9-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/2/H"><num value="H">(H)</num><content> the State advisory panel established under subchapter II;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87da-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/2/I"><num value="I">(I)</num><content> the State interagency coordinating council established under subchapter III;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87db-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/2/J"><num value="J">(J)</num><content> individuals knowledgeable about vocational education;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87dc-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/2/K"><num value="K">(K)</num><content> the State agency for higher education;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87dd-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/2/L"><num value="L">(L)</num><content> public agencies with jurisdiction in the areas of health, mental health, social services, and juvenile justice;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87de-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/2/M"><num value="M">(M)</num><content> other providers of professional development that work with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with disabilities; and</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87df-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/2/N"><num value="N">(N)</num><content> other individuals.</content>
</subparagraph>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I79" class="indent3 firstIndent-2" id="id829e87e0-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/3"><num value="3" class="bold">(3)</num><heading class="bold"> Required partner</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1">If State law assigns responsibility for teacher preparation and certification to an individual, entity, or agency other than the State educational agency, the State educational agency shall—</chapeau><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87e1-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/3/A"><num value="A">(A)</num><content> include that individual, entity, or agency as a partner in the partnership under this subsection; and</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id829e87e2-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s1452/b/3/B"><num value="B">(B)</num><content> ensure that any activities the State educational agency will carry out under this part that are within that partner’s jurisdiction (which may include activities described in <ref href="/us/usc/t20/s1454/b">section 1454(b) of this title</ref>) are carried out by that partner.</content>
