L. 105–244, title I, § 102(a)(6)(D), Oct. 7, 1998, 112 Stat. 1618.)","seq_in_title":995,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t20/ch42","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t20","level":"title","num":"Title 20—","heading":"EDUCATION","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t20/ch42","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 42—","heading":"HARRY S TRUMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" id=\"ide52799d7-f63a-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s2002\"><num value=\"2002\">§ 2002.</num><heading> Definitions</heading>\n<chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"blockIndent0\">As used in this chapter, the term—</chapeau><paragraph class=\"indent1\" id=\"ide52799d8-f63a-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s2002/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> “Board” means the Board of Trustees of the Harry S Truman Scholarship Foundation;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph class=\"indent1\" id=\"ide52799d9-f63a-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s2002/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> “Foundation” means the Harry S Truman Scholarship Foundation;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph class=\"indent1\" id=\"ide52799da-f63a-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s2002/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><content> “fund” means the Harry S Truman Memorial Scholarship Fund;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph class=\"indent1\" id=\"ide52799db-f63a-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s2002/4\"><num value=\"4\">(4)</num><content> “institution of higher education” means any such institution as defined by <ref href=\"/us/usc/t20/s1001\">section 1001 of this title</ref>;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph class=\"indent1\" id=\"ide52799dc-f63a-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s2002/5\"><num value=\"5\">(5)</num><content> “State” means each of the several States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and, considered as a single entity, Guam, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph class=\"indent1\" id=\"ide527c0ed-f63a-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s2002/6\"><num value=\"6\">(6)</num><content> “Secretary” means the Secretary of the Treasury.</content>\n</paragraph>\n<sourceCredit id=\"ide527c0ee-f63a-11e2-8470-abc29ba29c4d\">\n(<ref href=\"/us/pl/93/642/s3\">Pub.
