<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id82ce4a07-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s3478"><num value="3478">§ 3478.</num><heading> Facilities at remote locations</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id82ce4a08-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s3478/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> Authorized services, supplies and facilities</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Secretary is authorized to provide, construct, or maintain for employees and their dependents stationed at remote locations as necessary and when not otherwise available at such remote locations—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id82ce4a09-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s3478/a/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> emergency medical services and supplies;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id82ce4a0a-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s3478/a/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> food and other subsistence supplies;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id82ce4a0b-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s3478/a/3"><num value="3">(3)</num><content> dining facilities;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id82ce4a0c-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s3478/a/4"><num value="4">(4)</num><content> audiovisual equipment, accessories, and supplies for recreation and training;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id82ce4a0d-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s3478/a/5"><num value="5">(5)</num><content> reimbursement for food, clothing, medicine, and other supplies furnished by such employees in emergencies for the temporary relief of distressed persons;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id82ce4a0e-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s3478/a/6"><num value="6">(6)</num><content> living and working quarters and facilities; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id82ce4a0f-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s3478/a/7"><num value="7">(7)</num><content> transportation for dependents of employees of the Department to the nearest appropriate educational facilities.</content>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id82ce4a10-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s3478/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Reimbursements</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The furnishing of medical treatment under paragraph (1) of subsection (a) and the furnishing of services and supplies under paragraphs (2), (3), and (4) of subsection (a) shall be at prices reflecting reasonable value as determined by the Secretary.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id82ce4a11-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s3478/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> Appropriation credits and refunds</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Proceeds from reimbursements under this section may be credited to the appropriation of funds that bear or will bear all or part of the cost of such work or services or used to refund excess sums when necessary.</p>
