Each recipient must take at least twelve semester hours, or its equivalent in topics directly related to the Constitution of the United States, as determined by the Board.</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id6ca48342-d2f2-11e9-aa7d-f436298d01bb\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s4503/b\"><num value=\"b\">(b)</num><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id6ca48343-d2f2-11e9-aa7d-f436298d01bb\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s4503/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> James Madison fellowships shall be awarded to individuals who are, or who desire to become, social studies and American history teachers in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3).</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id6ca48344-d2f2-11e9-aa7d-f436298d01bb\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s4503/b/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> Junior fellowships shall be awarded to graduate students who are about to complete or have recently completed their undergraduate course of study, and plan to begin graduate work on a relatively full-time basis.</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id6ca48345-d2f2-11e9-aa7d-f436298d01bb\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s4503/b/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><content> Senior fellowships shall be awarded to experienced teachers who wish to undertake work for a graduate degree on a part-time basis during summers or in evening programs.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id6ca48346-d2f2-11e9-aa7d-f436298d01bb\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/99/500/s101/b/tVIII/s804\">Pub.
