<chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The State educational agency may—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6ccb1d4e-d2f2-11e9-aa7d-f436298d01bb" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s6456/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> reduce or terminate funding for projects under this subpart if a local educational agency does not show progress in the number of children and youth attaining a regular high school diploma or its recognized equivalent; and</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6ccb1d4f-d2f2-11e9-aa7d-f436298d01bb" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s6456/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> require correctional facilities or institutions for neglected or delinquent children and youth to demonstrate, after receiving assistance under this subpart for 3 years, that there has been an increase in the number of children and youth returning to school, attaining a regular high school diploma or its recognized equivalent, or attaining employment after such children and youth are released.</content>
