<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id83267beb-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s6471"><num value="6471">§ 6471.</num><heading> Program evaluations</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id83267bec-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s6471/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> Scope of evaluation</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Each State agency or local educational agency that conducts a program under subpart 1 or 2 of this part shall evaluate the program, disaggregating data on participation by gender, race, ethnicity, and age while protecting individual student privacy,,<ref class="footnoteRef" idref="fn002197">1</ref><note type="footnote" id="fn002197"><num>1</num> So in original.</note> not less than once every 3 years, to determine the program’s impact on the ability of participants—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id83267bed-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s6471/a/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> to maintain and improve educational achievement and to graduate from high school in the number of years established by the State under either the four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate or the extended-year adjusted cohort graduation rate, if applicable;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id83267bee-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s6471/a/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> to accrue school credits that meet State requirements for grade promotion and high school graduation;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id83267bef-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s6471/a/3"><num value="3">(3)</num><content> to make the transition to a regular program or other education program operated by a local educational agency or school operated or funded by the Bureau of Indian Education;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id83267bf0-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s6471/a/4"><num value="4">(4)</num><content> to complete high school (or high school equivalency requirements) and obtain employment after leaving the correctional facility or institution for neglected or delinquent children and youth; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id83267bf1-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s6471/a/5"><num value="5">(5)</num><content> as appropriate, to participate in postsecondary education and job training programs.</content>
</paragraph>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id83267bf2-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s6471/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Exception</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The disaggregation required under subsection (a) shall not be required in a case in which the number of students in a category is insufficient to yield statistically reliable information or the results would reveal personally identifiable information about an individual student.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id83267bf3-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s6471/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> Evaluation measures</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">In conducting each evaluation under subsection (a), a State agency or local educational agency shall use multiple and appropriate measures of student progress.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id83267bf4-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s6471/d"><num value="d" class="bold">(d)</num><heading class="bold"> Evaluation results</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Each State agency and local educational agency shall—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id83267bf5-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s6471/d/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> submit evaluation results to the State educational agency and the Secretary; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id83267bf6-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b" identifier="/us/usc/t20/s6471/d/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> use the results of evaluations under this section to plan and improve subsequent programs for participating children and youth.</content>
