L. 94–158, § 4, Dec. 20, 1975, 89 Stat. 845.)","seq_in_title":373,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t20/ch26A","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t20","level":"title","num":"Title 20—","heading":"EDUCATION","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t20/ch26A","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 26A—","heading":"INDEMNITY FOR EXHIBITIONS OF ARTS AND ARTIFACTS","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"id80ea4793-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s973\"><num value=\"973\">§ 973.</num><heading> Application for indemnity agreements</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id80ea4794-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s973/a\"><num value=\"a\" class=\"bold\">(a)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Parties</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">Any person, nonprofit agency, institution, or government desiring to make an indemnity agreement for eligible items under this chapter shall make application therefor in accordance with such procedures, in such form, and in such manner as the Council shall, by regulation, prescribe.</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id80ea4795-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s973/b\"><num value=\"b\" class=\"bold\">(b)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Contents</heading><chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">An application under subsection (a) shall—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id80ea4796-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s973/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> describe each item to be covered by the agreement (including an estimated value of such item);</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id80ea4797-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s973/b/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> show evidence that the items are eligible under <ref href=\"/us/usc/t20/s972/a\">section 972(a) of this title</ref>; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id80ea4798-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s973/b/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><content> set forth policies, procedures, techniques, and methods with respect to preparation for, and conduct of, exhibition of the items, and any transportation related to such items.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id80ea4799-3b28-11eb-8459-b1d1037aec5b\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t20/s973/c\"><num value=\"c\" class=\"bold\">(c)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Approval</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">Upon receipt of an application under this section, the Council shall, if such application conforms with the requirements of this chapter, approve the application and make an indemnity agreement with the applicant. Upon such approval, the agreement shall constitute a contract between the Council and the applicant pledging the full faith and credit of the United States to pay any amount for which the Council becomes liable under such agreement.
