L. 107–82, § 1(e), (f), Dec. 14, 2001, 115 Stat. 818.)","seq_in_title":615,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t21/ch20/schII/ptA","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t21","level":"title","num":"Title 21—","heading":"FOOD AND DRUGS","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t21/ch20","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 20—","heading":"NATIONAL DRUG CONTROL PROGRAM","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t21/ch20/schII","level":"subchapter","num":"SUBCHAPTER II—","heading":"DRUG-FREE COMMUNITIES","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t21/ch20/schII/ptA","level":"part","num":"Part A—","heading":"Drug-Free Communities Support Program","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"idaec6dde5-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533\"><num value=\"1533\">§ 1533.</num><heading> Information collection and dissemination with respect to grant recipients</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idaec6dde6-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/a\"><num value=\"a\" class=\"bold\">(a)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Coalition information</heading><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idaec6dde7-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/a/1\"><num value=\"1\" class=\"bold\">(1)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> General auditing authority</heading><chapeau>For the purpose of audit and examination, the Administrator—</chapeau><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"idaec6dde8-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/a/1/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> shall have access to any books, documents, papers, and records that are pertinent to any grant or grant renewal request under this subchapter; and</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"idaec6dde9-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/a/1/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><content> may periodically request information from a grant recipient to ensure that the grant recipient meets the applicable criteria under <ref href=\"/us/usc/t21/s1532/a\">section 1532(a) of this title</ref>.</content>\n</subparagraph>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idaec6ddea-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/a/2\"><num value=\"2\" class=\"bold\">(2)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Application process</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\">The Administrator shall issue a request for proposal regarding, with respect to the grants awarded under <ref href=\"/us/usc/t21/s1532\">section 1532 of this title</ref>, the application process, grant renewal, and suspension or withholding of renewal grants. Each application under this paragraph shall be in writing and shall be subject to review by the Administrator.</p>\n</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idaec6ddeb-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/a/3\"><num value=\"3\" class=\"bold\">(3)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Reporting</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\">The Administrator shall, to the maximum extent practicable and in a manner consistent with applicable law, minimize reporting requirements by a grant recipient and expedite any application for a renewal grant made under this part.</p>\n</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idaec6ddec-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/b\"><num value=\"b\" class=\"bold\">(b)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Data collection and dissemination</heading><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idaec6dded-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/b/1\"><num value=\"1\" class=\"bold\">(1)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> In general</heading><chapeau>The Administrator may collect data from—</chapeau><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"idaec6ddee-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/b/1/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> national substance abuse organizations that work with eligible coalitions, community anti-drug coalitions, departments or agencies of the Federal Government, or State or local governments and the governing bodies of Indian tribes; and</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"idaec6ddef-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/b/1/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><content> any other entity or organization that carries out activities that relate to the purposes of the Program.</content>\n</subparagraph>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idaec6ddf0-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/b/2\"><num value=\"2\" class=\"bold\">(2)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Activities of Administrator</heading><chapeau>The Administrator may—</chapeau><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"idaec6ddf1-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/b/2/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> evaluate the utility of specific initiatives relating to the purposes of the Program;</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"idaec6ddf2-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/b/2/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><content> conduct an evaluation of the Program; and</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"idaec6ddf3-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/b/2/C\"><num value=\"C\">(C)</num><chapeau> disseminate information described in this subsection to—</chapeau><clause style=\"-uslm-lc:I14\" class=\"indent3\" id=\"idaec6ddf4-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/b/2/C/i\"><num value=\"i\">(i)</num><content> eligible coalitions and other substance abuse organizations; and</content>\n</clause>\n<clause style=\"-uslm-lc:I14\" class=\"indent3\" id=\"idaec6ddf5-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/b/2/C/ii\"><num value=\"ii\">(ii)</num><content> the general public.</content>\n</clause>\n</subparagraph>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idaec6ddf6-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/b/3\"><num value=\"3\" class=\"bold\">(3)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Consultation</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\">The Administrator shall carry out activities under this subsection in consultation with the Advisory Commission and the National Community Antidrug Coalition Institute.</p>\n</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"idaec6ddf7-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s1533/b/4\"><num value=\"4\" class=\"bold\">(4)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Limitation on use of certain funds for evaluation of Program</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\">Amounts for activities under paragraph (2)(B) may not be derived from amounts under <ref href=\"/us/usc/t21/s1524/a\">section 1524(a) of this title</ref> except for amounts that are available under <ref href=\"/us/usc/t21/s1524/b\">section 1524(b) of this title</ref> for administrative costs.</p>\n</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"idaec6ddf8-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/100/690/tI\">Pub.
