L. 110–85, title X, § 1008, Sept. 27, 2007, 121 Stat. 970.)","seq_in_title":676,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t21/ch26","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t21","level":"title","num":"Title 21—","heading":"FOOD AND DRUGS","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t21/ch26","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 26—","heading":"FOOD SAFETY","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"idaed2c3d9-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s2107\"><num value=\"2107\">§ 2107.</num><heading> Sense of Congress</heading>\n<chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">It is the sense of Congress that—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idaed2c3da-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s2107/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> it is vital for Congress to provide the Food and Drug Administration with additional resources, authorities, and direction with respect to ensuring the safety of the food supply of the United States;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idaed2c3db-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s2107/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> additional inspectors are required to improve the Food and Drug Administration’s ability to safeguard the food supply of the United States;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idaed2c3dc-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s2107/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><content> because of the increasing volume of international trade in food products the Secretary should make it a priority to enter into agreements with the trading partners of the United States with respect to food safety; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idaed2c3dd-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s2107/4\"><num value=\"4\">(4)</num><content> Congress should work to develop a comprehensive response to the issue of food safety.</content>\n</paragraph>\n<sourceCredit id=\"idaed2c3de-ec38-11e5-9fc5-818d616f3d7f\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/110/85/tX\">Pub.
