L. 111–353, title I, § 109, Jan. 4, 2011, 124 Stat. 3912.)","seq_in_title":716,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t21/ch27/schI","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t21","level":"title","num":"Title 21—","heading":"FOOD AND DRUGS","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t21/ch27","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 27—","heading":"FOOD SAFETY MODERNIZATION","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t21/ch27/schI","level":"subchapter","num":"SUBCHAPTER I—","heading":"IMPROVING CAPACITY TO PREVENT FOOD SAFETY PROBLEMS","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"id41deade2-a3d3-11e9-95d4-f3ff9237185e\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s2203\"><num value=\"2203\">§ 2203.</num><heading> Food and Agriculture Coordinating Councils</heading>\n<chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">The Secretary of Homeland Security, in coordination with the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Secretary of Agriculture, shall within 180 days of <date date=\"2011-01-04\">January 4, 2011</date>, and annually thereafter, submit to the relevant committees of Congress, and make publicly available on the Internet Web site of the Department of Homeland Security, a report on the activities of the Food and Agriculture Government Coordinating Council and the Food and Agriculture Sector Coordinating Council, including the progress of such Councils on—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id41deade3-a3d3-11e9-95d4-f3ff9237185e\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s2203/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> facilitating partnerships between public and private entities to help coordinate and enhance the protection of the agriculture and food system of the United States;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id41deade4-a3d3-11e9-95d4-f3ff9237185e\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s2203/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> providing for the regular and timely interchange of information between each council relating to the security of the agriculture and food system (including intelligence information);</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id41deade5-a3d3-11e9-95d4-f3ff9237185e\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s2203/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><content> identifying best practices and methods for improving the coordination among Federal, State, local, and private sector preparedness and response plans for agriculture and food defense; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id41deade6-a3d3-11e9-95d4-f3ff9237185e\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s2203/4\"><num value=\"4\">(4)</num><chapeau> recommending methods by which to protect the economy and the public health of the United States from the effects of—</chapeau><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id41deade7-a3d3-11e9-95d4-f3ff9237185e\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s2203/4/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> animal or plant disease outbreaks;</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id41deade8-a3d3-11e9-95d4-f3ff9237185e\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s2203/4/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><content> food contamination; and</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id41deade9-a3d3-11e9-95d4-f3ff9237185e\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s2203/4/C\"><num value=\"C\">(C)</num><content> natural disasters affecting agriculture and food.</content>\n</subparagraph>\n</paragraph>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id41deadea-a3d3-11e9-95d4-f3ff9237185e\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/111/353/tI/s109\">Pub.
