L. 109–177, title VII, § 736, Mar. 9, 2006, 120 Stat. 271.)","seq_in_title":448,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t21/ch13/schI/ptE","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t21","level":"title","num":"Title 21—","heading":"FOOD AND DRUGS","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t21/ch13","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 13—","heading":"DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION AND CONTROL","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t21/ch13/schI","level":"subchapter","num":"SUBCHAPTER I—","heading":"CONTROL AND ENFORCEMENT","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t21/ch13/schI/ptE","level":"part","num":"Part E—","heading":"Administrative and Enforcement Provisions","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"id6fd1b2d6-6123-11e3-9d46-8388bf8dcc60\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s871a\"><num value=\"871a\">§ 871a.</num><heading> Semiannual reports to Congress</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id6fd1b2d7-6123-11e3-9d46-8388bf8dcc60\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s871a/a\"><num value=\"a\" class=\"bold\">(a)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> In general</heading><chapeau>The Attorney General shall, on a semiannual basis, submit to the congressional committees and organizations specified in subsection (b) reports that—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id6fd1b2d8-6123-11e3-9d46-8388bf8dcc60\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s871a/a/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> describe the allocation of the resources of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the investigation and prosecution of alleged violations of the Controlled Substances Act [<ref href=\"/us/usc/t21/s801\">21 U.S.C. 801</ref> et seq.] involving methamphetamine; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id6fd1b2d9-6123-11e3-9d46-8388bf8dcc60\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s871a/a/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><chapeau> the measures being taken to give priority in the allocation of such resources to such violations involving—</chapeau><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id6fd1b2da-6123-11e3-9d46-8388bf8dcc60\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s871a/a/2/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> persons alleged to have imported into the United States substantial quantities of methamphetamine or scheduled listed chemicals (as defined pursuant to the amendment made by section 711(a)(1)); <ref class=\"footnoteRef\" idref=\"fn002116\">1</ref><note type=\"footnote\" id=\"fn002116\"><num>1</num> See References in Text note below.</note></content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id6fd1b2db-6123-11e3-9d46-8388bf8dcc60\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s871a/a/2/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><content> persons alleged to have manufactured methamphetamine; and</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id6fd1b2dc-6123-11e3-9d46-8388bf8dcc60\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s871a/a/2/C\"><num value=\"C\">(C)</num><content> circumstances in which the violations have endangered children.</content>\n</subparagraph>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id6fd1b2dd-6123-11e3-9d46-8388bf8dcc60\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s871a/b\"><num value=\"b\" class=\"bold\">(b)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Congressional committees</heading><chapeau>The congressional committees and organizations referred to in subsection (a) are—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id6fd1b2de-6123-11e3-9d46-8388bf8dcc60\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s871a/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> in the House of Representatives, the Committee on the Judiciary, the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and the Committee on Government Reform; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id6fd1b2df-6123-11e3-9d46-8388bf8dcc60\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t21/s871a/b/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> in the Senate, the Committee on the Judiciary, the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and the Caucus on International Narcotics Control.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id6fd1b2e0-6123-11e3-9d46-8388bf8dcc60\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/109/177/s736\">Pub.
