(See Reviser’s Note under <ref href=\"/us/usc/t28/s291\">section 291 of this title</ref>.)</p>\n<p style=\"-uslm-lc:I21\" class=\"indent0\">The terms “chief judge” and “chief judge of a circuit” were substituted for “senior circuit judge”. (See Reviser’s Note under <ref href=\"/us/usc/t28/s136\">section 136 of this title</ref>.)</p>\n<p style=\"-uslm-lc:I21\" class=\"indent0\">The alternative provision for approval by the judicial council of the circuit was inserted to conform with <ref href=\"/us/usc/t28/s332\">section 332 of this title</ref>.</p>\n<p style=\"-uslm-lc:I21\" class=\"indent0\">Changes were made in phraseology.</p>\n</note>\n<note style=\"-uslm-lc:I74\" topic=\"amendments\" id=\"id13a4f25c-f67d-11e5-bd8c-a577a4d23433\"><heading class=\"centered smallCaps\">Amendments</heading><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I21\" class=\"indent0\">1978—<ref href=\"/us/pl/95/598\">Pub. L. 95–598</ref> directed the amendment of section by substituting “district, or bankruptcy” for “or district”, which amendment did not become effective pursuant to <ref href=\"/us/pl/95/598/s402/b\">section 402(b) of Pub. L. 95–598</ref>, as amended, set out as an Effective Date note preceding <ref href=\"/us/usc/t11/s101\">section 101 of Title 11</ref>, Bankruptcy.</p>\n<p style=\"-uslm-lc:I21\" class=\"indent0\">1958—<ref href=\"/us/pl/85/755\">Pub.
