<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id13b80562-f67d-11e5-bd8c-a577a4d23433" identifier="/us/usc/t28/s474"><num value="474">§ 474.</num><heading> Review of district court action</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id13b80563-f67d-11e5-bd8c-a577a4d23433" identifier="/us/usc/t28/s474/a"><num value="a">(a)</num><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id13b80564-f67d-11e5-bd8c-a577a4d23433" identifier="/us/usc/t28/s474/a/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><chapeau> The chief judge of each district court in a circuit and the chief judge of the circuit shall, as a committee—</chapeau><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id13b80565-f67d-11e5-bd8c-a577a4d23433" identifier="/us/usc/t28/s474/a/1/A"><num value="A">(A)</num><content> review each plan and report submitted pursuant to <ref href="/us/usc/t28/s472/d">section 472(d) of this title</ref>; and</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id13b80566-f67d-11e5-bd8c-a577a4d23433" identifier="/us/usc/t28/s474/a/1/B"><num value="B">(B)</num><content> make such suggestions for additional actions or modified actions of that district court as the committee considers appropriate for reducing cost and delay in civil litigation in the district court.</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id13b80567-f67d-11e5-bd8c-a577a4d23433" identifier="/us/usc/t28/s474/a/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> The chief judge of a circuit may designate another judge of the court of appeals of that circuit, and the chief judge of a district court may designate another judge of such court, to perform that chief judge’s responsibilities under paragraph (1) of this subsection.</content>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id13b80568-f67d-11e5-bd8c-a577a4d23433" identifier="/us/usc/t28/s474/b"><num value="b">(b)</num><chapeau> The Judicial Conference of the United States—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id13b80569-f67d-11e5-bd8c-a577a4d23433" identifier="/us/usc/t28/s474/b/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> shall review each plan and report submitted by a district court pursuant to <ref href="/us/usc/t28/s472/d">section 472(d) of this title</ref>; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id13b8056a-f67d-11e5-bd8c-a577a4d23433" identifier="/us/usc/t28/s474/b/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> may request the district court to take additional action if the Judicial Conference determines that such court has not adequately responded to the conditions relevant to the civil and criminal dockets of the court or to the recommendations of the district court’s advisory group.</content>
