<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id82267ef5-be3e-11e7-b8a3-9bed5a2a391a" identifier="/us/usc/t28/s993"><num value="993">§ 993.</num><heading> Powers and duties of Chair</heading>
<chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Chair shall—</chapeau><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id82267ef6-be3e-11e7-b8a3-9bed5a2a391a" identifier="/us/usc/t28/s993/a"><num value="a">(a)</num><content> call and preside at meetings of the Commission, which shall be held for at least two weeks in each quarter after the members of the Commission hold part-time positions; and</content>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id82267ef7-be3e-11e7-b8a3-9bed5a2a391a" identifier="/us/usc/t28/s993/b"><num value="b">(b)</num><chapeau> direct—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id82267ef8-be3e-11e7-b8a3-9bed5a2a391a" identifier="/us/usc/t28/s993/b/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> the preparation of requests for appropriations for the Commission; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id82267ef9-be3e-11e7-b8a3-9bed5a2a391a" identifier="/us/usc/t28/s993/b/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> the use of funds made available to the Commission.</content>
