<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id223212ea-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1310"><num value="1310">§ 1310.</num><heading> Appropriations for private organizations</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id223212eb-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1310/a"><num value="a">(a)</num><chapeau> The Secretary of the Treasury shall credit an appropriation for a private organization to the appropriate fiscal official of the organization. The credit shall be carried on the accounts of—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id223212ec-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1310/a/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> the Treasury; or</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id223212ed-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1310/a/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> a designated depositary of the United States Government (except a national bank).</content>
</paragraph>
</subsection>
<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id223212ee-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1310/b"><num value="b">(b)</num><chapeau> The fiscal official may pay an amount out of the appropriation only on a check of the fiscal official—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id223212ef-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1310/b/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> payable to the order of the person to whom payment is to be made; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id223212f0-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1310/b/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> that states the specific purpose for which the amount is to be applied.</content>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id223212f1-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1310/c"><num value="c">(c)</num><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id223212f2-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1310/c/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><chapeau> The fiscal official may pay an amount of less than $20 out of the appropriation on a check—</chapeau><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id223212f3-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1310/c/1/A"><num value="A">(A)</num><content> payable to the order of the fiscal official; and</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id223212f4-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1310/c/1/B"><num value="B">(B)</num><content> that states the amount is to be applied to small claims.</content>
</subparagraph>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id223212f5-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1310/c/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> The fiscal official shall provide the Secretary or the designated depositary on which the check is drawn with a certified list of the claims. The list shall state the kind and amount of each claim and the name of each claimant.</content>

<p style="-uslm-lc:I21" class="indent0">In subsection (a), before clause (1), the words “by warrant” are omitted as unnecessary because of chapter 33 of the revised title. The word “appropriation” is substituted for “moneys appropriated” for consistency in the revised title.
