<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id6fe19891-b854-11e9-b72c-a5fb66e51517" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1355"><num value="1355">§ 1355.</num><heading> Prohibition on use of funds for portraits</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id6fe19892-b854-11e9-b72c-a5fb66e51517" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1355/a"><num value="a">(a)</num><content> No funds appropriated or otherwise made available to the Federal Government may be used to pay for the painting of a portrait of an officer or employee of the Federal Government, including the President, the Vice President, a Member of Congress, the head of an executive agency, or the head of an office of the legislative branch.</content>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id6fe19893-b854-11e9-b72c-a5fb66e51517" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1355/b"><num value="b">(b)</num><chapeau> In this section—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6fe19894-b854-11e9-b72c-a5fb66e51517" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1355/b/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> the term “executive agency” has the meaning given the term in <ref href="/us/usc/t41/s133">section 133 of title 41</ref>; and</content>

<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id6fe19895-b854-11e9-b72c-a5fb66e51517" identifier="/us/usc/t31/s1355/b/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> the term “Member of Congress” includes a Delegate or Resident Commissioner to Congress.</content>
