The weight of the 5-cent coin may vary not more than 0.194 gram. The weight of the one-cent coin may vary not more than 0.13 gram. Any gold coin issued under <ref href=\"/us/usc/t31/s5112\">section 5112 of this title</ref> shall contain the full weight of gold stated on the coin.</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id22cccbf6-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t31/s5113/b\"><num value=\"b\">(b)</num><chapeau> The Secretary shall keep a record of the kind, number, and weight of each group of coins minted and test a number of the coins separately to determine if the coins conform to the weight specified in <ref href=\"/us/usc/t31/s5112/a\">section 5112(a) of this title</ref>. If the coins tested do not conform, the Secretary—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id22cccbf7-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t31/s5113/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> shall weigh each coin of the group separately and deface the coins that do not conform and cast them into bars for reminting; or</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id22cccbf8-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t31/s5113/b/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> may remelt the group of coins.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id22cccbf9-3bf5-11e3-9fd0-985dd9cd422a\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/97/258\">Pub. In clause (1), the words “deface the coins that do not conform and cast them into bars for reminting” are substituted for “shall be defaced and delivered to the superintendent of melting and refining department as standard bullion, to be again formed into ingots and recoined” for consistency in the revised chapter and to eliminate unnecessary words.
