<p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The sum of $310,000,000 is authorized to be appropriated for carrying out the improvements herein and the sum of $10,000,000 is authorized to be appropriated and expended in equal amounts by the Departments of the Army and Agriculture for carrying out any examinations and surveys provided for in this Act and other Acts of Congress.</p>

<p style="-uslm-lc:I21" class="indent0">The first proviso, relating to a limitation upon the amount of expenditure during the fiscal year 1937, was deleted as executed and obsolete. The second proviso, relating to payment from funds available to the Works Progress Administration, was also omitted as executed and obsolete. The Works Progress Administration was renamed the Work Projects Administration by Reorg. Plan No. 1 of 1939, § 306, eff. <date date="1939-07-01">July 1, 1939</date>, 4 F.R. 2727, <ref href="/us/stat/53/1423">53 Stat. 1423</ref>, set out in the Appendix to Title 5, Government Organization and Employees. Liquidation was ordered by President’s letter of <date date="1942-12-04">December 4, 1942</date>, and appropriations for it authorized by <ref href="/us/act/1943-07-12/ch229/tI">act July 12, 1943, ch. 229, title I</ref>, <ref href="/us/stat/57/540">57 Stat. 540</ref>.</p>

<p style="-uslm-lc:I21" class="indent0">Department of War designated Department of the Army and title of Secretary of War changed to Secretary of the Army by section 205(a) of <ref href="/us/act/1947-07-26/ch343/tII">act July 26, 1947, ch. 343, title II</ref>, <ref href="/us/stat/61/501">61 Stat. 501</ref>. Section 205(a) of act <date date="1947-07-26">July 26, 1947</date>, was repealed by section 53 of <ref href="/us/act/1956-08-10/ch1041">act Aug. 10, 1956, ch. 1041</ref>, <ref href="/us/stat/70A/641">70A Stat. 641</ref>.
