L. 114–324, § 9(a)(4), Dec. 16, 2016, 130 Stat. 1955.)","seq_in_title":179,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t34/stI/ch101/schXXVII","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t34","level":"title","num":"Title 34—","heading":"CRIME CONTROL AND LAW ENFORCEMENT","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t34/stI","level":"subtitle","num":"Subtitle I—","heading":"Comprehensive Acts","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t34/stI/ch101","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 101—","heading":"JUSTICE SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t34/stI/ch101/schXXVII","level":"subchapter","num":"SUBCHAPTER XXVII—","heading":"PAUL COVERDELL FORENSIC SCIENCES IMPROVEMENT GRANTS","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"id264dc429-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s10566\"><num value=\"10566\">§ 10566.</num><heading> Reports</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id264dc42a-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s10566/a\"><num value=\"a\" class=\"bold\">(a)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Reports to Attorney General</heading><chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">For each fiscal year for which a grant is awarded under this subchapter, each State or unit of local government that receives such a grant shall submit to the Attorney General a report, at such time and in such manner as the Attorney General may reasonably require, which report shall include—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id264dc42b-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s10566/a/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> a summary and assessment of the program carried out with the grant, which shall include a comparison of pre-grant and post-grant forensic science capabilities;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id264dc42c-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s10566/a/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> the average number of days between submission of a sample to a forensic science laboratory or forensic science laboratory system in that State operated by the State or by a unit of local government and the delivery of test results to the requesting office or agency;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id264deb3d-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s10566/a/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><content> an identification of the number and type of cases currently accepted by the laboratory;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id264deb3e-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s10566/a/4\"><num value=\"4\">(4)</num><content> the progress of any unaccredited forensic science service provider receiving grant funds toward obtaining accreditation; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id264deb3f-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s10566/a/5\"><num value=\"5\">(5)</num><content> such other information as the Attorney General may require.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id264deb40-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s10566/b\"><num value=\"b\" class=\"bold\">(b)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Reports to Congress</heading><chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">Not later than 90 days after the last day of each fiscal year for which 1 or more grants are awarded under this subchapter, the Attorney General shall submit to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President pro tempore of the Senate, a report, which shall include—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id264deb41-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s10566/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> the aggregate amount of grants awarded under this subchapter for that fiscal year; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id264deb42-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s10566/b/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> a summary of the information provided under subsection (a).</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id264deb43-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/90/351/tI/s2806\">Pub.
