<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id15346701-8160-11e9-8f35-c624b526f388" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s10704"><num value="10704">§ 10704.</num><heading> Equitable distribution of funds</heading>
<chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">In awarding grants under this subchapter, the Attorney General shall distribute funds in a manner that—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id15346702-8160-11e9-8f35-c624b526f388" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s10704/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> equitably addresses the needs of underserved populations, including rural and tribal communities; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id15346703-8160-11e9-8f35-c624b526f388" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s10704/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><chapeau> focuses on communities that have been disproportionately impacted by opioid abuse as evidenced in part by—</chapeau><subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id15346704-8160-11e9-8f35-c624b526f388" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s10704/2/A"><num value="A">(A)</num><content> high rates of primary treatment admissions for heroin and other opioids;</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id15346705-8160-11e9-8f35-c624b526f388" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s10704/2/B"><num value="B">(B)</num><content> high rates of drug poisoning deaths from heroin and other opioids; and</content>
</subparagraph>
<subparagraph style="-uslm-lc:I13" class="indent2" id="id15346706-8160-11e9-8f35-c624b526f388" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s10704/2/C"><num value="C">(C)</num><content> a lack of accessibility to treatment providers and facilities and to emergency medical services.</content>
