L. 106–71, § 3(q), Oct. 12, 1999, 113 Stat. 1042.)","seq_in_title":276,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t34/stI/ch111/schIII/ptF","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t34","level":"title","num":"Title 34—","heading":"CRIME CONTROL AND LAW ENFORCEMENT","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t34/stI","level":"subtitle","num":"Subtitle I—","heading":"Comprehensive Acts","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t34/stI/ch111","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 111—","heading":"JUVENILE JUSTICE AND DELINQUENCY PREVENTION","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t34/stI/ch111/schIII","level":"subchapter","num":"SUBCHAPTER III—","heading":"RUNAWAY AND HOMELESS YOUTH","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t34/stI/ch111/schIII/ptF","level":"part","num":"Part F—","heading":"General Provisions","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"id2677b9e2-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s11272\"><num value=\"11272\">§ 11272.</num><heading> Lease of surplus Federal facilities for use as runaway and homeless youth centers or as transitional living youth shelter facilities</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id2677b9e3-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s11272/a\"><num value=\"a\" class=\"bold\">(a)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Conditions of lease arrangements</heading><chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">The Secretary may enter into cooperative lease arrangements with States, localities, and nonprofit private agencies to provide for the use of appropriate surplus Federal facilities transferred by the General Services Administration to the Department of Health and Human Services for use as runaway and homeless youth centers or as transitional living youth shelter facilities if the Secretary determines that—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id2677b9e4-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s11272/a/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> the applicant involved has suitable financial support necessary to operate a runaway and homeless youth center or transitional living youth project, as the case may be, under this subchapter;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id2677b9e5-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s11272/a/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> the applicant is able to demonstrate the program expertise required to operate such center in compliance with this subchapter, whether or not the applicant is receiving a grant under this part; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id2677b9e6-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s11272/a/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><content> the applicant has consulted with and obtained the approval of the chief executive officer of the unit of local government in which the facility is located.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id2677e0f7-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s11272/b\"><num value=\"b\" class=\"bold\">(b)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Period of availability; rent-free use; structural changes: Federal ownership and consent</heading><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id2677e0f8-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s11272/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> Each facility made available under this section shall be made available for a period of not less than 2 years, and no rent or fee shall be charged to the applicant in connection with use of such facility.</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id2677e0f9-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s11272/b/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> Any structural modifications or additions to facilities made available under this section shall become the property of the United States.
