<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id269553f7-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s12311"><num value="12311">§ 12311.</num><heading> Training programs</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id269553f8-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s12311/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> In general</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Attorney General, after consultation with victim advocates and individuals who have expertise in treating sex offenders, shall establish criteria and develop training programs to assist probation and parole officers and other personnel who work with released sex offenders in the areas of—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id269553f9-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s12311/a/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> case management;</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id269553fa-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s12311/a/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> supervision; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id269553fb-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s12311/a/3"><num value="3">(3)</num><content> relapse prevention.</content>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id269553fc-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s12311/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Training programs</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Attorney General shall ensure, to the extent practicable, that training programs developed under subsection (a) are available in geographically diverse locations throughout the country.</p>
