<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id26b02f61-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s20108"><num value="20108">§ 20108.</num><heading> Crime victims notification grants</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id26b02f62-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s20108/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> In general</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Director may make grants as provided in <ref href="/us/usc/t34/s20103/c/1/A">section 20103(c)(1)(A) of this title</ref> to State, tribal, and local prosecutors’ offices, law enforcement agencies, courts, jails, and correctional institutions, and to qualified public or private entities, to develop and implement state-of-the-art systems for notifying victims of crime of important dates and developments relating to the criminal proceedings at issue in a timely and efficient manner, provided that the jurisdiction has laws substantially equivalent to the provisions of chapter 237 of title 18.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id26b02f63-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s20108/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> Integration of systems</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Systems developed and implemented under this section may be integrated with existing case management systems operated by the recipient of the grant.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id26b02f64-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s20108/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> Authorization of appropriations</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">In addition to funds made available under <ref href="/us/usc/t34/s20101/d">section 20101(d) of this title</ref>, there are authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id26b02f65-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s20108/c/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> $5,000,000 for fiscal year 2005; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id26b02f66-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s20108/c/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> $5,000,000 for each of the fiscal years 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009.</content>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id26b02f67-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s20108/d"><num value="d" class="bold">(d)</num><heading class="bold"> False Claims Act</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Notwithstanding any other provision of law, amounts collected pursuant to sections 3729 through 3731 of title 31 (commonly known as the “False Claims Act”) may be used for grants under this section, subject to appropriation.</p>
