L. 114–22, title IV, § 402, May 29, 2015, 129 Stat. 256.)","seq_in_title":554,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t34/stII/ch213","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t34","level":"title","num":"Title 34—","heading":"CRIME CONTROL AND LAW ENFORCEMENT","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t34/stII","level":"subtitle","num":"Subtitle II—","heading":"Protection of Children and Other Persons","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t34/stII/ch213","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 213—","heading":"RAPE SURVIVOR CHILD CUSTODY","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"id26dae855-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s21301\"><num value=\"21301\">§ 21301.</num><heading> Definitions</heading>\n<chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">In this chapter:</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id26dae856-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s21301/1\"><num value=\"1\" class=\"bold\">(1)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Covered formula grant</heading><chapeau style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\">The term “covered formula grant” means a grant under—</chapeau><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id26dae857-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s21301/1/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> part T of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (<ref href=\"/us/usc/t42/s3796gg\">42 U.S.C. 3796gg</ref> et seq.) <ref class=\"footnoteRef\" idref=\"fn002193\">1</ref><note type=\"footnote\" id=\"fn002193\"><num>1</num> See References in Text note below.</note> (commonly referred to as the “STOP Violence Against Women Formula Grant Program”); or</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id26dae858-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s21301/1/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><content> <ref href=\"/us/usc/t34/s12511\">section 12511 of this title</ref> (commonly referred to as the “Sexual Assault Services Program”).</content>\n</subparagraph>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I79\" class=\"indent3 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id26db0f69-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s21301/2\"><num value=\"2\" class=\"bold\">(2)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Termination</heading><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I18\" class=\"indent4 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id26db0f6a-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s21301/2/A\"><num value=\"A\" class=\"bold\">(A)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> In general</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\">The term “termination” means, when used with respect to parental rights, a complete and final termination of the parent’s right to custody of, guardianship of, visitation with, access to, and inheritance from a child.</p>\n</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I18\" class=\"indent4 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id26db0f6b-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s21301/2/B\"><num value=\"B\" class=\"bold\">(B)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Rule of construction</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\">Nothing in this paragraph shall be construed to require a State, in order to receive an increase in the amount provided to the State under the covered formula grants under this chapter, to have in place a law that terminates any obligation of a person who fathered a child through rape to support the child.</p>\n</content>\n</subparagraph>\n</paragraph>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id26db0f6c-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/114/22/tIV/s402\">Pub.
