The demonstration projects shall include scientific evaluation of the public safety benefits, improvements to law enforcement operations, and cost-effectiveness of increased collection and use of DNA evidence.</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I19\" class=\"indent2 firstIndent-2\" id=\"id158b876e-8160-11e9-8f35-c624b526f388\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t34/s40724/c\"><num value=\"c\" class=\"bold\">(c)</num><heading class=\"bold\"> Authorization of appropriations</heading><content><p style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\">There are authorized to be appropriated $5,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2017 through 2021 to carry out this section.</p>\n</content>\n</subsection>\n<sourceCredit id=\"id158b876f-8160-11e9-8f35-c624b526f388\">(<ref href=\"/us/pl/108/405/tIII/s305\">Pub.
