<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id270023b6-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s41304"><num value="41304">§ 41304.</num><heading> Family and domestic violence: data collection and reporting</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id270023b7-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s41304/a"><num value="a" class="bold">(a)</num><heading class="bold"> Family violence reporting</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">Under the authority of <ref href="/us/usc/t28/s534">section 534 of title 28</ref>, the Attorney General shall require, and include in uniform crime reports, data that indicate—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id270023b8-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s41304/a/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> the age of the victim; and</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id270023b9-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s41304/a/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> the relationship of the victim to the offender, for crimes of murder, aggravated assault, simple assault, rape, sexual offenses, and offenses against children.</content>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id270023ba-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s41304/b"><num value="b" class="bold">(b)</num><heading class="bold"> National Crime Survey</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">The Director of the Bureau of Justice Statistics, through the annual National Crime Survey, shall collect and publish data that more accurately measures the extent of domestic violence in America, especially the physical and sexual abuse of children and the elderly.</p>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I19" class="indent2 firstIndent-2" id="id270023bb-0f21-11eb-9212-a1a9175aa019" identifier="/us/usc/t34/s41304/c"><num value="c" class="bold">(c)</num><heading class="bold"> Authorization of appropriations</heading><content><p style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0">There are authorized to be appropriated in fiscal years 1989, 1990, 1991, and 1992, such sums as are necessary to carry out the purposes of this section.</p>
