L. 107–155, title III, § 308(a)(1), Mar. 27, 2002, 116 Stat. 103.)","seq_in_title":60,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t36/stI/ptA/ch5","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t36","level":"title","num":"Title 36—","heading":"PATRIOTIC AND NATIONAL OBSERVANCES, CEREMONIES, AND ORGANIZATIONS","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t36/stI","level":"subtitle","num":"Subtitle I—","heading":"Patriotic and National Observances and Ceremonies","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t36/stI/ptA","level":"part","num":"Part A—","heading":"Observances and Ceremonies","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t36/stI/ptA/ch5","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 5—","heading":"PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURAL CEREMONIES","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"id0bccd74d-b39a-11e9-bada-f08bb708da19\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t36/s511\"><num value=\"511\">§ 511.</num><heading> Authorization of appropriations</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id0bccd74e-b39a-11e9-bada-f08bb708da19\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t36/s511/a\"><num value=\"a\">(a)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">Authorization</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>Necessary amounts are authorized to be appropriated—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id0bccd74f-b39a-11e9-bada-f08bb708da19\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t36/s511/a/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><chapeau> to enable the Mayor of the District of Columbia to provide additional municipal services in the District of Columbia during the inaugural period, including—</chapeau><subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id0bccfe60-b39a-11e9-bada-f08bb708da19\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t36/s511/a/1/A\"><num value=\"A\">(A)</num><content> employment of personal services without regard to chapters 33 and 51 and subchapter III of chapter 53 of title 5;</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id0bccfe61-b39a-11e9-bada-f08bb708da19\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t36/s511/a/1/B\"><num value=\"B\">(B)</num><content> travel expenses of enforcement personnel, including sanitarians, from other jurisdictions;</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id0bccfe62-b39a-11e9-bada-f08bb708da19\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t36/s511/a/1/C\"><num value=\"C\">(C)</num><content> the hiring of the means of transportation;</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id0bccfe63-b39a-11e9-bada-f08bb708da19\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t36/s511/a/1/D\"><num value=\"D\">(D)</num><content> meals for policemen, firemen, and other municipal employees;</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id0bccfe64-b39a-11e9-bada-f08bb708da19\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t36/s511/a/1/E\"><num value=\"E\">(E)</num><content> the cost of removing and relocating streetcar loading platforms, construction, rent, maintenance, and expenses incident to the operation of temporary public comfort stations, first-aid stations, and information booths; and</content>\n</subparagraph>\n<subparagraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I13\" class=\"indent2\" id=\"id0bccfe65-b39a-11e9-bada-f08bb708da19\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t36/s511/a/1/F\"><num value=\"F\">(F)</num><content> other incidental expenses in the discretion of the Mayor; and</content>\n</subparagraph>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id0bccfe66-b39a-11e9-bada-f08bb708da19\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t36/s511/a/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> to enable the Secretary of the Interior to provide meals for the members of the United States Park Police during the inaugural period.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"id0bccfe67-b39a-11e9-bada-f08bb708da19\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t36/s511/b\"><num value=\"b\">(b)</num><heading> <inline class=\"small-caps\">Payment</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>Amounts appropriated under—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"id0bccfe68-b39a-11e9-bada-f08bb708da19\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t36/s511/b/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> subsection (a)(1) of this section are payable in the same way as other appropriations for the expenses of the District of Columbia;
