<section xmlns="http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" style="-uslm-lc:I80" id="id549713bb-f67d-11e5-8cc7-9b652666228a" identifier="/us/usc/t38/s1786"><num value="1786">§ 1786.</num><heading> Care for newborn children of women veterans receiving maternity care</heading><subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id549713bc-f67d-11e5-8cc7-9b652666228a" identifier="/us/usc/t38/s1786/a"><num value="a">(a)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">In General</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>The Secretary may furnish health care services described in subsection (b) to a newborn child of a woman veteran who is receiving maternity care furnished by the Department for not more than seven days after the birth of the child if the veteran delivered the child in—</chapeau><paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id549713bd-f67d-11e5-8cc7-9b652666228a" identifier="/us/usc/t38/s1786/a/1"><num value="1">(1)</num><content> a facility of the Department; or</content>
</paragraph>
<paragraph style="-uslm-lc:I12" class="indent1" id="id549713be-f67d-11e5-8cc7-9b652666228a" identifier="/us/usc/t38/s1786/a/2"><num value="2">(2)</num><content> another facility pursuant to a Department contract for services relating to such delivery.</content>

<subsection style="-uslm-lc:I11" class="indent0" id="id549713bf-f67d-11e5-8cc7-9b652666228a" identifier="/us/usc/t38/s1786/b"><num value="b">(b)</num><heading> <inline class="small-caps">Covered Health Care Services</inline>.—</heading><content>Health care services described in this subsection are all post-delivery care services, including routine care services, that a newborn child requires.</content>
