L. 91–375, Aug. 12, 1970, 84 Stat. 721.)","seq_in_title":6,"parent_identifier":"/us/usc/t39/ptI/ch2","ancestors":[{"identifier":"/us/usc/t39","level":"title","num":"Title 39—","heading":"POSTAL SERVICE","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t39/ptI","level":"part","num":"PART I—","heading":"GENERAL","status":null,"is_section":false},{"identifier":"/us/usc/t39/ptI/ch2","level":"chapter","num":"CHAPTER 2—","heading":"ORGANIZATION","status":null,"is_section":false}],"xml":"<section xmlns=\"http://xml.house.gov/schemas/uslm/1.0\" xmlns:xsi=\"http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance\" xmlns:dc=\"http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/\" xmlns:dcterms=\"http://purl.org/dc/terms/\" style=\"-uslm-lc:I80\" id=\"idaf2cbfcb-3b2b-11eb-8a99-86c9feb5d7f6\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t39/s205\"><num value=\"205\">§ 205.</num><heading> Procedures of the Board of Governors</heading><subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"idaf2ce6dc-3b2b-11eb-8a99-86c9feb5d7f6\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t39/s205/a\"><num value=\"a\">(a)</num><content> The Board shall direct and control the expenditures and review the practices and policies of the Postal Service, and perform other functions and duties prescribed by this title.</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"idaf2ce6dd-3b2b-11eb-8a99-86c9feb5d7f6\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t39/s205/b\"><num value=\"b\">(b)</num><content> Vacancies in the Board, as long as there are sufficient members to form a quorum, shall not impair the powers of the Board under this title.</content>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"idaf2ce6de-3b2b-11eb-8a99-86c9feb5d7f6\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t39/s205/c\"><num value=\"c\">(c)</num><chapeau> The Board shall act upon majority vote of those members who are present, and any 6 members present shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business by the Board, except—</chapeau><paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idaf2ce6df-3b2b-11eb-8a99-86c9feb5d7f6\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t39/s205/c/1\"><num value=\"1\">(1)</num><content> that in the appointment or removal of the Postmaster General, and in setting the compensation of the Postmaster General and Deputy Postmaster General, a favorable vote of an absolute majority of the Governors in office shall be required;</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idaf2ce6e0-3b2b-11eb-8a99-86c9feb5d7f6\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t39/s205/c/2\"><num value=\"2\">(2)</num><content> that in the appointment or removal of the Deputy Postmaster General, a favorable vote of an absolute majority of the Governors in office and the member serving as Postmaster General shall be required; and</content>\n</paragraph>\n<paragraph style=\"-uslm-lc:I12\" class=\"indent1\" id=\"idaf2d0df1-3b2b-11eb-8a99-86c9feb5d7f6\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t39/s205/c/3\"><num value=\"3\">(3)</num><content> as otherwise provided in this title.</content>\n</paragraph>\n</subsection>\n<subsection style=\"-uslm-lc:I11\" class=\"indent0\" id=\"idaf2d0df2-3b2b-11eb-8a99-86c9feb5d7f6\" identifier=\"/us/usc/t39/s205/d\"><num value=\"d\">(d)</num><content> No officer or employee of the United States may serve concurrently as a Governor.
